2019 Tax Deadlines Remain Despite Government Shutdown

UPDATE 1/24/19:  News is mounting in Arizona over the local impact of our nation’s government shutdown.  This includes a halting of the E-Verify system  and an estimated $1.5 billion hit every week to the GDP (Gross Domestic Product.)  Business experts say, the shutdown is a deal-killer.

The federal government may be nearing four weeks of a partial shutdown, but promises are being made that your tax returns will go through.  In fact, some 46,000 IRS employees will be heading back to work without pay to make sure it happens.

Employers must issue W2 forms to their employees by January 31, 2019.  Focus HR, Inc. processes W2 forms for every client and must be alerted if/when an employee’s mailing address changes.

Tax Day 2019 is Monday, April 15.
