NEW STUDY: Heart Failure Patients Need the Flu Vaccine

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “it takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies that protect against flu to develop in the body” so it’s not too late to get protected.

The annual flu season typically runs from October to May, and a new study’s come out saying that the flu vaccine is especially lifesaving for people with heart failure.

When it comes to influenza and the workplace, the CDC estimates 17 million workdays are lost each year due to the virus.  In addition, some $17 billion is spent on sick days and lost productivity.
