Post or Pay: OSHA 300 Logs are Mandatory for Most

We’re a couple weeks away from a pretty important deadline for business owners:  the federal mandate to post OSHA 300 logs.

Failure to post your OSHA 300 log can lead to a hefty penalty of $13,260 per violation.

Every year, from February 1 to April 30, almost all companies with ten or more employees must post their OSHA 300 log in a visible location so that everyone’s informed of potential safety hazards at work.  The goal is to keep worker safety top-of-mind and to motivate preventative safety measures.

Focus HR, Inc. sends clients their updated log and a personal reminder to post every year.  Additionally, clients receive direct support and guidance in the event of a workplace injury.

Effective January 1, 2015, all employers must report the following:

  • All work-related fatalities within 8 hours.
  • All work-related inpatient hospitalizations, all amputations and all losses of an eye within 24 hours.
